A group of us went to a minor league hockey game this past Saturday. The Texas Tornadoes. We started out the evening at Paulios, which is an awesome little place where they have freaking great pizza and pasta. So a group of us started out there having a great time amongst friends, then we headed over to the game. Ben and I with another friend were following Amy, who had two more in her car, and it was an experience! There was one point where we needed to do a U-Turn, we were stopped at a red light when Amy just went ahead and did a U-Turn at the red light and headed the other way…well, Ben and I did not know where we were going (hence the following Amy in the first place…) so Ben just followed suite. (What the heck was she thinking?) :)
Then we get to the park, and Bens truck was too big to fit in the upper section of the parking terrace, so we got good parking right on the ground level.
What an awesome time! I so love Hockey and it was a great game. It ended up going into double overtime which ended in a shootout. They even had a put up your dukes’ fight between two guys who needed to let off some steam. (There was an obvious height advantage to one of the guys, so it was not really fair, but it was still awesome!) So cool. I had a great time hanging out with friends, and watching people getting checked right and left!
Hope we can do it again. It is a very affordable sport to go to live! And one that I really like too.

Famous (not really)
So I had to do a Broadcast for work today, which consists of me creating the slide show, and writing the script (which this time was easy, because it was very similar to the broadcast that was done last year on the same topic, so I just copied most of it over into the new background).
So I also get to dress up in a suit, which now I work in a business casual environment, I don’t wear suits anymore. But I dug one out of my closet, and put it on. Needless to say, once I got to work, all my coworkers razzed me asking why I was all dressed up
But I got down to the studio, and there are different ways that they do this, you either do it live and all the stores watch while you are doing it, or they tape with a teleprompter, or they tape with out a teleprompter, and you have to have the times where you are on camera mostly memorized. I got to do the taping with no teleprompter. I was a bit rushed on this one, so I did not have it memorized too well.
But I suppose I did alright. It is an odd experience taping, and it gives you a whole new respect for people who do it all the time. It is one thing to give a presentation in front of a room filled with people; it is entirely different to tape a presentation while staring at a camera with no audience reaction. While still having energy, and smile!
Well, one down, and I am working on the slides and script for one the end of the month, when that one is down, I should be done for the year!

Update
It seems like I have not had room to breathe the last month. With my new position at work, they keep me hopping all the time! So where I used to have some time to write a little blog now and then at work, I don’t have 1 minute to eek out anymore, in fact I am putting in more hours just to get what I have to get done done, and I like to have a work/life balance! I like my job, but I don’t want to spend anymore time there than I have to.
I have some pics I need to get updated as well, but don’t have time for that, just for a quick note, but I will try to get them on here!
Ben and I have been volunteering at his church every Monday night for the past few weeks, and will continue this through the school year. We are "teaching" English as a Second language classes. It has actually been a really great time, but it goes until 8:30, so Mondays are out to get anything else done since we get there right after work.
It seems like the rest of the week is just as full. I remember the days when I would come home after work and wonder what was on TV to watch. Eat dinner, and then watch TV. I get to do that about 1 day a week now. So my DVR is packed full of TV shows that I used to watch. But I still like them, so I am going to catch-up eventually!
It has started to get cold here (cold for Dallas) and my place of employment does not have heat. They rely on the body heat of the 4000+ who work here, as well as the PC's and lights to heat the building, and the past few days it has been really cold...I come home and just want to jump into a warm bath, or bed.
Butch has been gone for the last few weeks with his papa, and it has been mighty quiet without him. I miss my little buddy. He should be up there with Landon for the next few weeks. We are trying to figure out a time that works best to switch, but it seems that there is so much going on, it is hard to come up with a time.
I had my mid year review at work, and it did not go so well, in fact it is one of the worst reviews I have ever had. So I am having to step it up a whole lot at work. But I am not concerned. I have a new position which I love, and a new boss who has been very supportive, and works me like a dog. I would rather be working like a dog than sitting in my cube looking for something to do, and wondering what I was not doing that I should be! So with all these changes, I have no worries that by the time the year is over, my next review will be sterling!
I feel so very blessed to have so many good things going for me right now. I have a lot going on, and stress has become part of my daily life it seems. I have to step back sometimes and look at all the things that I have which are good in my life. And I have so very much!
