Hmmm.

The mother of the two children that we are trying to adopt called last night about 12:30 she is on the west coast…and I don’t think thought about the time difference :). It was alright however, because I was up until 2:30 watching the Lord of the Rings Trilogy in its entirety. Yes I have a very full life!
Anyways, I have a little more hope that this may actually come through. It would be so awesome if it did, but I still am trying very hard not to get my hopes up too far, because it would still be so easy for her to say no. We are trying really hard just to go with the flow, and see where this takes us. We do still hope it takes us to a place where we have 2 great kids in our home! Wish us luck!

Here it is Saturday...

I have come to love and hate Saturdays. Love them because it is my long awaited day off from my work week, and hate them because I am usually alone.
Let me qualify both of those statements!
First. I got a promotion about 2 years ago that gave me a pretty cushy job that is 8-5 M-F. This from my previous position that was sometimes 4 in the morning and sometimes started at 6p and went until 2 in the morning. With working usually all but one weekend in a month with those same crazy hours. However, I could sleep in on the days that I worked late, and I had a day off or sometimes two during the week. This M-F job, it makes it very hard to get anything done. Such as doctor appointments, dentist, getting your car lubed, so on and so forth.
So everything that I used to get done, I now have to plan for a lunch hour, select a place that is close to my work instead of my home and sometimes ask my boss for half a day off to just get normal everyday things done.. That is so frustrating. And plus, you always know that Saturday is your day off, so you have to get everything done that you have not been able to do all week all in one day. Yet it is a day off! Yeah.

Second. As much as I do love to have time for myself, every weekend is too much! Landon has been playing (which he loves heart and soul) so much this year. Last weekend he had off, I think it was the first one since February. And it was over sooo quickly. But we had an excellent time!
Hence my Saturday dilemma

Our House in Texas last fall with our little tree turning color for the two weeks of fall that we get here!

Our newer car (we needed something that got more tha 15 MPG!) This is on the coast in Corpus Christi.

All over and again

Well,
Here it is the third state that we have tried to finish our adoption processes through the state, and what happens? An opportunity provides itself to perhaps adopt privatly. A girl and boy who are brother and sister.
This is where it gets hard. You can get so excited about having two great kids in your home, but them you have to actually get the adoption finalized. The mom has to do everything that is expected, and the court system has to help you understand all that is needed to have all the legal aspects covered.
So we are at the point where it all depends on the mother of the two kids, and if she really wants to have her two kids have a better life.
We will just have to wait it out.
We always hope for the best and do whatever we can to make it work!
